Engineered Delivery Across Critical Infrastructure
Melron Group executes technically demanding engineering projects across mechanical, energy, aviation, and water infrastructure sectors. Our work reflects precision planning, strict compliance, and safe execution in live operational environments. Below is a selection of projects demonstrating our capability and proven delivery record.
DSP Umlazi Canal Rehabilitation 12” Carbon Steel Gas Pipeline Reinstatement – Durban South
Client: Sasol
This project involved the reinstatement of a displaced 12-inch gas pipeline in Durban South, including the construction of a 452-metre carbon steel pipeline and a 90-metre canal crossing. The replacement of approximately 400 metres of pipeline was completed without interrupting gas supply, requiring highly controlled execution in a live environment.
Fire Flight Aircraft Simulator Programme Aircraft Fire Training Simulation Systems
Clients: Airports Company South Africa (ACSA), Airports of Mauritius, Basil Read, GAAL, Hibiscus Coast Municipality
The Fire Flight Aircraft Simulator programme provides advanced aircraft fire training systems developed in collaboration with airport authorities and fire rescue teams. Melron Group was responsible for the design, manufacturing, transport, installation, and commissioning of multiple aircraft fire simulators across South Africa and internationally.
EB Cloete Interchange – DN900 Water Main Relocation N2 Culvert Pipe Realignment
Client: Base Major / CSCEC Joint Venture
This project formed part of major infrastructure upgrades at the EB Cloete Interchange. The works involved the relocation of a DN900 water main and realignment of the N2 culvert system to support ongoing road development. The project required careful coordination to protect critical municipal water infrastructure within an active construction zone.
Melron Group provides ongoing gas pipeline maintenance services for Sasol Gas across the Durban and Johannesburg regions. With over 20 years as an approved vendor, the relationship reflects long-term trust, technical reliability, and consistent performance in live operational environments. The work includes routine maintenance, emergency response, system modifications, and integrity management to ensure continued safe and efficient gas distribution.
The Southern Aquaduct Upgrade involved the construction of approximately 1,800 metres of DN1600 steel water pipeline to replace the existing prestressed concrete pipeline and augment the current steel line. The project formed part of a critical bulk water infrastructure upgrade, requiring precision welding, advanced fabrication, and strict quality control to ensure long-term system integrity.
Proven Engineering, Measured Results
